We are proud to announce that the CFK team have designed, produced and erected a number of Cycling Map boards around the town. Tom especially has put a lot of effort into this and it has certainly been worthwhile. The map boards can be found on King Street, at Ardvonie Park beside the GP surgery and in the square in front of the Court House on High Street.
Kingussie lies at the heart of a network of off-road trails and quiet minor roads which are ideal for cycling. Sustrans Route 7 runs through the town and the Speyside Way is only a short ride away. However until recently many visitors to the area have been completely unaware of just how good the local cycling can be. A key project for Cycle Friendly Kingussie has been to identify some of the best routes in the locality, map them, and then promote them to both visitors and locals alike.
Otherwise we also continue to build a database of the best local on and off-road mountain biking trails. The many quiet minor roads, forest roads and Land Rover tracks offer the opportunity to explore the area away from traffic. For those looking for a more technical challenge there is a network of single-track trails.
Details of all the trails can be found on the Trails section of this website, where you can download route descriptions, maps and GPX files. We look forward to seeing you out on the trails!
